We spent our last day in Venezia getting lost in the city and enjoying the beautiful weather. Our first stop was the Museo Correr, followed by a light lunch and some shopping.
One of the places at the top of my list to visit was Libreria Acqua Alta, a bookstore my best friend found on Instagram that is piled floor to ceiling with books. There is a window that opens onto a canal and a staircase made of books that you can climb up to see onto the canal. Another highlight of the bookstore is the cats that live there. While we only met two, there are about five that are permanent fixtures.
We capped the day off by taking the long ride home on the ACTV and taking in the beautiful views of Venezia from the water. When we landed at Piazza San Marco, we decided to squeeze the last bit of time out of the day by getting some gelato and taking our time walking through the piazza back to our apartment.
While we are sad to be moving on from Venezia, the next leg of the adventure starts tomorrow in Verona.
